FSN Hockey Day schedule

Hockey Day in Minnesota, featuring three high school hockey games played outdoors (weather permitting), is coming to Hermantown on Saturday. Fox Sports Net has released its schedule of events for the day, starting at 9 a.m.

FOX Sports North, in conjunction with the Wild, has also produced several special features and vignettes including unique and fun-filled hockey stories, which are scheduled to air as follows:

9 to 10 a.m.
Jamie Langenbrunner: A Cloquet native and one of the most recognizable current NHL players, Langenbrunner has won two Stanley Cups and is the current captain of the USA Olympic hockey team.

Duluth Heritage Center: Learn about a community that developed a grassroots initiative in an effort to build a beautiful new ice arena.

Jenny Potter: Former Golden Gopher, UMD Bulldog and US Women’s Olympic Hockey team member. Potter talks about how she feels about attending her fourth Olympic Games and what it’s like to be a "Hockey Mom."

 

12:30 to 1:15 p.m.
Mike Sertich: The legendary coach is known for winning the most games in UMD history. Now retired, Sertich lives in Hermantown and still spends the majority of his time on the ice, coaching and ice fishing.

Joe Piram: A United States soldier from Eden Prairie, Piram was badly burned from a bomb while serving in Iraq. He continues to coach the Eden Prairie junior Gold B team.

 

3:45 to 4:30 p.m.
Duke Pieper: Duke is an amazing 16-year-old who lives in Edina. A serious brain condition brain took him off the ice, but it did not take away his incredible attitude.

Josh Sacco: The 5-year old Sacco became a YouTube sensation when he was videotaped giving the Herb Brooks pregame speech to Team USA prior to beating the Soviet Union. Watch him give the famous speech in front of the Herb Brooks statue in St. Paul.

1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team: Join Neal Broten, Buzz Schneider and Eric Strobel, members of the "Miracle" USA Olympic hockey team, as they celebrate the team’s 30-year anniversary.

1960 USA Olympic Hockey Team: A look back at the 50th anniversary of the gold medal-winning team.

4:30 to 5 p.m.
Todd Richards & son: A Minnesota native, former Golden Gopher and current head coach for the Minnesota Wild, Todd Richards allows cameras to follow him to one of his son’s pee-wee hockey games.
